I have been told that I’m a fast learner. I tend to pick up on new things really quickly. I think that the reason for this is because I am skilled at taking what I have already learned and applying it to learning new things. This familiarity makes the new lesson come to me more easily than if I just started fresh trying to learn new information.

For example, if I were asked to try to learn how to use Titan series headsets, I would refer back to my own experiences with different types of headsets. I’ve used wireless phone headsets and Bluetooth adaptors before so I would rely on this experience to inform me about how to use the new Titan headsets. This allows me to easily see how to do what I’m supposed to do with the technology even if I’ve never used it before.

It’s not just learning about technology that this method of education applies to. It applies to almost all learning. I can learn new languages quickly because I rely on what I know from having learned other languages in the past. I can learn new recipes because I have cooked before. I think that being able to apply your education from one place to another is what really makes you smart.
