Neat Bartending Tool

A recent business trip landed me at DFW International Airport in Dallas Texas. It was my first time to this airport, and I have to say that I was kind of impressed. I got off of my plane at one of what they called the old terminals, but it was still pretty nice. Then I boarded what they called the new train and set out to the terminal that I would be departing from a few hours later.
The train didn’t take long to arrive at the new terminal (that’s what they call it), and I was really impressed. First of all, the thing was huge! Well I had a couple of hours to kill, so I ended up, like many air travelers with layovers, at one of the bars. Now I’m no stranger to retail point of sale software and inventory control software. But I had never seen the kind of asset tracking software that they had in use at this bar. In order to pour a drink, the bartender had to put a special collar on the pour spout of the bottle which was hooked up to the computer cash register. It only allows them to pour the specified amount! Well that may hurt their tips, but it has to really help the concessionaire’s profit margin!
