As a parent, you may find that you have a lot more trouble getting girls Halloween costumes than you do when getting costumes for boys in the family. That’s because so many of the girls costumes that are made are designed to be way more sexy than a little girl should be.

• Encourage girls to get creative in coming up with their own costumes. Sometimes what you make at home is a lot better than what you can buy in a store.
• Add layers. A tank top underneath a costume or a jacket over it can make all the difference in terms of appropriate clothing for your kids.
