For a City with a Big Event on a Tight Budget

crowd controlIn these times, several economic situations have come together to make it harder for not only people to pay for things, but also cities. When Muncie, Indiana was preparing for their big annual parade, city planners scrambled because the budget was too tight and they weren’t sure if they could cover for the expenses of the necessary equipment. For the various equipment intended for crowd control, the city looked to a company which specializes in manufactured and customizable crowd control barriers. Often, many of these can even be rented for a required period of time. This is good for events such as the Super Bowl or even at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics.

In addition to equipment to manage the crowds, Muncie officials needed to find temporary fencing to manage the route and to separate and protect law enforcement posts. There will always be someone or several people that act inappropriately, so a city always needs to be ready, no matter how tame its citizens are. Most of all, the general population needs to be protected as well as informed on where they need to go so they can have the best time possible.
