I’m really big on taking advantage of modern technology to get my company’s message out. After all, it’s my job to remain on the cutting edge. Unfortunately, in my zeal to zero in on the latest and greatest marketing methods, I overlooked the value of old-fashion print. Mailing services still matter and let me tell you why.
While it’s true a lot of people use the Internet on a regular basis to surf sites, find out information and receive e-mails, many still do not. In one of my last marketing campaigns, I overlooked the value of paper marketing communications. Although the campaign did garner interest, it was evident I was missing a big chunk of the business my company would normally see. That’s when I realized I was missing the segment of the population that still prefers to hold the marketing materials they read in the palm of their hands.
On the very next campaign, I incorporated help from an offset printing Triad company. This company was able to assist not only with printing, but also Internet marketing, as well. The end result was a success that I couldn’t have imagined in my wildest dreams!
While online marketing can work wonders, there’s still something to giving customers a tangible piece of paper to hold in their hands. I’ve learned my lesson on this score for certain!

I’m a Realtor, and therefore I completely understand the paramount importance of professionalism when it comes to marketing. For example, when I do flyers for the houses I have listed, they have to be put together in a way that looks like they came from a print shop. Because I have a background in advertising, I am able to create most of my own advertising materials on my computer. Obviously having a good color printer and using high quality paper is a must.
A slick new thing that I recently started doing involves DVD printing. You see, I film virtual tours which appear on my website as well as on our MLS. Now I am burning those onto DVDs and using them as virtual flyers. All you need is a disk printer (CD printers are common and inexpensive) and you are good to go. And really, if you buy the disks and cases in bulk, they are cheap. I actually switched to the mini disks because they are just more convenient for prospects to take. And when I’m done printing on the disk, it really looks like some professional marketing firm has created them. Not only does it help me sell houses, but when potential sellers see how I market my listings, they call on me.
